Yet, a growing trend has been observed where these events devolve into passive sessions. One person shares the taskboard on a screen, while the rest of the team disengages, merely watching without contributing. This approach not only drains the team's energy but also contradicts the very essence of Agile. This blog post explores how to transform these events from mundane screen-sharing sessions into vibrant, collaborative efforts that energize the team and reinforce their commitment to achieving sprint goals.

Identifying the Problem:

Start by describing the typical scenario of Agile events dominated by one person navigating through tools like JIRA or Azure DevOps Boards, and the impact this has on team engagement and collaboration.

Highlight how this approach turns potentially dynamic interactions into energy-draining monologues, undermining the principles of Agile methodology.

The Importance of Active Participation:

Discuss the critical role active participation plays in Agile events, emphasizing how engagement from all team members leads to better understanding, decision-making, and ownership of tasks and goals.

Explore the psychological and practical effects of passive observation vs. active involvement on team morale and sprint outcomes.

Strategies for Reenergizing Agile Events:

Rotate the Facilitator Role: Suggest rotating the person responsible for navigating the taskboard among team members to ensure everyone has a chance to lead and engage.

Encourage Verbal Updates: Instead of relying solely on the taskboard, encourage team members to give brief verbal updates on their progress, challenges, and plans, fostering a more personal and engaging discussion.

Incorporate Interactive Tools: Recommend using interactive Agile tools or digital whiteboards that allow all team members to contribute, comment, and update in real-time during the meeting.

Break Out Into Smaller Discussions: For larger teams, propose breaking out into smaller groups for more detailed discussions on specific tasks or challenges, then regrouping to share insights with the whole team.

Fostering a Culture of Collaboration:

Emphasize the need for a cultural shift within teams and organizations towards valuing and rewarding collaboration and active participation in all Agile events.

Share tips for leaders and Agile coaches on how to model and encourage behaviors that promote engagement, such as recognizing contributions, facilitating open discussions, and ensuring a psychologically safe environment for sharing ideas and concerns.

Measuring the Impact:

Discuss methods for assessing the changes in team dynamics and performance after implementing these strategies, such as through team surveys, sprint retrospectives, and tracking sprint outcomes.

Highlight the potential benefits, including increased team morale, improved clarity on sprint goals, and enhanced overall productivity.

Conclusion:

Agile events should be the heartbeat of the team's sprint cycle, pumping energy, clarity, and purpose into the project. By shifting from passive taskboard observation to active, collaborative engagement, teams can reignite their passion for Agile principles and recommit to achieving their sprint goals together. It's time to transform Agile ceremonies from energy-draining obligations into energizing opportunities for teamwork and success.

Read this before However, some teams have a tendency to add more and more states to their task boards, which can create confusion and reduce the effectiveness of the tool. In this blog, we will explore why teams might be adding more states to their task boards, and why it's important to keep it simple with just three states - todo, doing, and done.

keep it simple with just three states - todo, doing, and done

The agile manifesto emphasizes the importance of "individuals and interactions over processes and tools." When it comes to task boards, this means that teams should prioritize communication and collaboration over adding more states to the board. Instead of relying on a tool to communicate, teams should strive to have more face-to-face conversations and ensure that everyone is on the same page.

One of the reasons teams might be adding more states to their task boards is a lack of collaboration. When team members are not communicating effectively with each other, they might add more states to try to make up for it. For example, they might add a "waiting" state to indicate that a task is waiting on another team member. While this can be helpful in some cases, it can also make the task board more complex and difficult to use.

Another reason teams might be adding more states is a misunderstanding of the purpose of the tool. Task boards are meant to be a simple and visual way to track progress and identify roadblocks. When teams add more states, they can lose sight of this goal and create a more complicated system that is harder to use.

While it might be tempting to add more states to a task board, it's important to keep it simple with just three states - todo, doing, and done. Here are a few reasons why:

Simplicity - With just three states, the task board is easy to understand and use. Everyone on the team knows what each state means, and there is no confusion about how to move tasks from one state to another.

Visibility - The three states provide a clear picture of progress on the project. Team members can quickly see what tasks are still outstanding, what tasks are in progress, and what tasks are complete.

Focus - By keeping the task board simple, teams can focus on the work that needs to be done. There are no distractions or unnecessary states to worry about, which helps keep the team focused on the most important tasks.

While tools like task boards can be helpful, they should never replace the importance of human interactions. By keeping the task board simple and focusing on communication, teams can create a culture of collaboration and achieve better results.

Conclusion

Task boards are a valuable tool for software development teams, but it's important to use them correctly. While some teams might be tempted to add more states to their task boards, it's best to keep it simple with just three states - todo, doing, and done. By doing so, teams can improve collaboration, reduce confusion, and stay focused on the work that needs to be done.

Story Points Is Critics argue that story points are either redundant, e.g. the #NoEstimates movement, or wrongly equated with hours. This perspective misses the nuanced value story points and poker planning bring to teams, particularly in fostering the three C's—Card, Conversation, and Confirmation—and building a shared understanding within teams. This blog post aims to clarify the purpose and strategic use of story points, illustrating how they facilitate essential team dynamics.

Demystifying Story Points: Story points measure complexity, effort, and uncertainty, distinguishing themselves from direct time estimates. They provide a high-level view to help teams understand story sizes relative to each other, accommodating software development's unpredictability. Contrary to criticisms, story points transcend mere time estimation, enabling more flexible and informed planning.

The Power of Poker Planning: Poker planning enhances the utility of story points by promoting team-wide engagement and diverse viewpoints. This consensus-driven estimation technique ensures comprehensive team involvement, leading to more accurate collective assessments of work based on varied insights.

Focusing on the Three C's:

Card: Each user story, symbolized by a card, catalyzes team discussion, ensuring a unified starting point.

Conversation: Story points and poker planning ignite valuable discussions, enabling team members to dissect assumptions, exchange insights, and detail tasks. This dialogue is crucial for a deep understanding of project complexities.

Confirmation: Through these discussions, teams align on what success for each story entails.

Example in Conversation: Consider a scenario where a team debates whether a task is worth 2 or 13 story points. While some might see this as a trivial discrepancy, it's the discussion triggered by such differences that is invaluable. For instance, a developer might view a feature as straightforward (2 points), overlooking potential complexities identified by a tester (13 points). This gap prompts a brief yet critical conversation, revealing overlooked aspects like edge cases or integration challenges. Such discussions are gold; they enhance team understanding and ensure all angles are considered. It's less about the specific numbers and more about uncovering and addressing these discrepancies through dialogue.

The Misplaced Focus on Precision: I've seen teams debating whether a user story is a 1, 2, or a 3 points, which misses the point 🙃. The true value lies in the discussions sparked by significant discrepancies in estimation. These conversations are where the real insights emerge, helping teams align their understanding and expectations. While other methods can facilitate this alignment, the direct and structured nature of story points and poker planning, when applied correctly, proves particularly effective.

Building a Shared Understanding: Assigning story points via poker planning is about more than estimating work; it's a means to achieve a shared understanding among team members. This consensus on scope and complexity ensures aligned team expectations, key to collaboration.

Responding to Critics: While not universally applicable, dismissing story points overlooks their potential for fostering collaboration and communication. Real-world examples demonstrate how story points have improved team dynamics, estimation accuracy, and product outcomes, emphasizing the importance of how these tools are used rather than the tools themselves.

Conclusion: Story points and poker planning are invaluable not for the quantifiable estimates they provide but for the collaborative interactions they foster within Agile teams. They facilitate meaningful discussions, ensuring a unified approach to project challenges. By emphasizing the conversation and shared understanding they encourage, teams can navigate the complexities of software development more effectively, embodying the true spirit of Agile.

Are You a Pawn or a Player? A fascinating insight from Spotify's team health check revolves around the question of "pawns or players" — do teams control their own destiny, or are they merely executing orders? Unfortunately, many teams find themselves in the former category, functioning as pawns without a clear understanding of the purpose behind their projects. Often, product discovery and decision-making are left to the Highest Paid Person's Opinion (HIPPO), sidelining the team's insight and expertise. This blog explores five strategies to transition from being pawns to becoming empowered players in the product development game.

Embrace Product Discovery as a Team Effort:

Shift the paradigm of product discovery from a top-down approach to a collaborative team activity. Engage in user research, prototype testing, and feedback sessions as a team to ensure everyone understands and contributes to the product's direction.

Actionable Tip: Schedule regular product discovery workshops that involve cross-functional team members, encouraging diverse perspectives and collective ownership.

Foster Open Communication and Transparency:

Establish channels and practices that promote open communication between team members, stakeholders, and decision-makers. Transparency about product goals, user needs, and business objectives helps demystify the "why" behind projects.

Actionable Tip: Implement regular 'Ask Me Anything' (AMA) sessions with product leaders and stakeholders to discuss project rationales and strategic directions.

Cultivate a Culture of Experimentation:

Encourage a culture where experimentation and iterative learning are valued. This empowers teams to explore different solutions, learn from failures, and ultimately understand the product landscape more deeply.

Actionable Tip: Allocate time for innovation sprints where team members can propose, prototype, and test new ideas without the immediate pressure of delivery.

Advocate for Autonomy and Decision-Making Power:

Work towards greater autonomy in how the team decides on project execution. Autonomy fosters a sense of ownership and responsibility, driving teams to make more informed and committed decisions.

Actionable Tip: Negotiate for decision-making frameworks that allow the team to make low to medium impact decisions without external approval, using data and user feedback as guides.

Develop a Shared Vision and Purpose:

Align on a shared vision for the product and the impact it aims to achieve. A united purpose galvanizes the team, transforming them from order-takers to active participants in the product's success.

Actionable Tip: Conduct vision-setting workshops and regular alignment sessions to ensure every team member understands and is invested in the product's direction and success criteria.

Transitioning from being pawns to players in the product development process is pivotal for team health and product success. However, a common challenge many teams face is presenting their work in a way that genuinely engages busy stakeholders. Too often, sprint reviews turn into a monotonous rundown of user story deliverables, lacking the necessary context to make them meaningful.

In this blog post, we'll explore strategies to transform your sprint reviews from routine meetings into dynamic, engaging discussions that provide valuable insights and foster a deeper understanding of the product’s vision and goals.

Provide Context Upfront:

Start with a brief recap of the product objectives and how the current sprint's deliverables align with them. This sets the stage and gives stakeholders a clear understanding of what to expect and why it matters.

Use storytelling techniques to connect user stories with real user pain points and journeys. This approach helps stakeholders see the bigger picture and understand the impact of each feature or improvement.

Demonstrate Real-World Application:

Move beyond mere descriptions or bullet points. Show how new features or changes would work in real-life scenarios.

If possible, use live demos instead of slideshows. Real-time demonstrations of new features can be more effective in conveying the value and functionality of the work done.

Encourage Interactive Feedback:

Structure the review to be interactive. Encourage stakeholders to ask questions and share their thoughts throughout the presentation, not just at the end.

If done online, consider using tools or platforms that allow for real-time feedback and collaboration. This could range from digital whiteboards to specialized software.

Focus on Achievements and Learning:

Highlight key achievements and learning points of the sprint. Discuss both what went well and what could be improved.

Share any metrics or data that demonstrate the progress and impact of the sprint's work.

Tailor to Your Audience:

Understand your stakeholders’ interests and concerns. Tailor the content of the sprint review to address these areas.

Avoid technical jargon and acronyms that might be confusing. The goal is to make the information as accessible and relatable as possible.

Follow Up with Actionable Steps:

Conclude with clear, actionable steps based on the feedback received.

Provide a platform for further discussion post-review, ensuring stakeholders can contribute even if they think of something after the meeting.

Making your sprint reviews interesting and engaging is crucial for the success of any Product team. By providing context, demonstrating real-world applications, encouraging interactive feedback, focusing on achievements, tailoring content to your audience, and following up with actionable steps, you can ensure that your sprint reviews are not just informative but also engaging and productive. Remember, the goal of a sprint review is not just to inform stakeholders but to actively involve them in the product development journey.

Thanks for reading Gembanana’s Blog! However, the adoption of large frameworks has, in some instances, diluted the essence of Agile, leading organizations into the pitfalls of rigid structures and processes. This blog post aims to re-examine the Agile values in the context of today’s challenges, particularly in a post-Covid world, and suggests a shift towards a more product-centric Agile practice.

The Agile Values Revisited
The Agile Manifesto emphasizes individuals and interactions over processes and tools. Yet, in the remote work era, these values are being tested. The challenge now is to maintain effective communication and collaboration in virtual environments while upholding the spirit of Agile. Teams must find new ways to foster interactions that are as meaningful and productive as those in physical office spaces.

Thanks for reading Gembanana’s Blog! Teams often find themselves caught up in the mechanics of the framework, losing sight of Agile's flexibility and adaptability. This overemphasis on process can stifle creativity and hinder rapid response to change – elements that are at the heart of Agile.

Scrum’s Evolution: Emphasizing Product Goals
Scrum have successfully mainstreamed Agile practices, so teams have gotten far, but there is something missing.

“With respect to software development, I think at the team level agile is widely practiced It’s the dominant form of how teams organize. In many IT teams, the alignment to business outcomes is missing.”
Dave West, CEO of Scrum.org, 2021

Recognizing this challenge, organizations like Scrum.org have made efforts to adapt, such as incorporating the concept of a product goal into the Scrum Guide in the 2020 update. This shift is a step towards refocusing on the product - not just the process. It's about ensuring that Scrum, or any Agile framework, serves as a means to an end (delivering valuable products) rather than becoming an end in itself.

Agile Is Not Dead: It’s Evolving
Declaring Agile as obsolete would be premature. Instead, it's evolving, and part of this evolution involves integrating product discovery practices. Agile was never meant to be stagnant; it was designed to evolve with the times and challenges. The current era demands that we revisit and realign Agile practices with their original intent – delivering value quickly and efficiently while responding to change.

Integrating Product Discovery Practices
Product discovery practices provide a framework for understanding user needs and market dynamics, ensuring that what is being built truly addresses real problems and offers value. These practices align well with Agile principles, emphasizing rapid learning, experimentation, and adaptation based on feedback.

Conclusion: A Call for a Product-Centric Agile Approach
In conclusion, while Agile values and principles remain as valid today as they were two decades ago, their application needs to evolve. A product-centric approach, blending Agile practices with product discovery methodologies, offers a pathway for teams to truly embrace the agility and responsiveness that the Agile Manifesto advocates. It's about evolving Agile to meet the demands of a rapidly changing world and ensuring that it continues to be a powerful tool for creating products that matter.

We have tried our best to create a tool for teams to thrive in a remote work environment while staying true to Agile's core values. It’s like asking a master chef to only reheat food. This approach not only demoralizes the team but also leads to financial inefficiency. When engineers are excluded from the creative process, the result is a staggering 80% of software features that are rarely used, pointing to a significant disconnect between development and actual user needs.

The Power of Involvement in Discovery: Software development is an art and science that demands creativity, insight, and foresight. By involving engineers in the product discovery phase, we unlock a treasure trove of benefits:

They offer invaluable insights into the feasibility and technical implications of proposed features.

Their early involvement ensures products reflect what’s possible and beneficial, not just what’s asked.

Engaging engineers in discovery kindles their passion, leading to innovative solutions and a greater sense of product ownership.

Case Study: Transforming Sprint Planning through Product Discovery A vivid example of the impact of this approach comes from a team I assisted, which underwent a radical mindset shift after embracing product discovery. Previously, their sprint planning sessions were lengthy and convoluted. After a focused product discovery workshop, their subsequent sprint planning took a mere 17 minutes. Why? Because the sprint goal and user stories were crystal clear to everyone. Understanding the bigger picture transformed their planning process from a chore into a streamlined, purpose-driven activity.

Strategies for Involving Engineers in Discovery: So, how can we replicate this success? Here are some strategies:

Include engineers in initial discovery sessions.

Encourage open dialogue between engineers and other stakeholders.

Organize workshops where technical and non-technical team members collaborate on ideation and problem-solving.

Recognize and reward contributions that extend beyond coding.

Conclusion: Reducing software engineers to code monkeys is a strategic misstep. By integrating these talented individuals into the discovery process, we open doors to innovation, efficiency, and products that truly resonate with users. Let's shift our perspective and leverage the full spectrum of our teams' abilities.

Thanks for reading Gembanana’s Blog! creativity isn't just an asset; it's a necessity. Sir Ken Robinson's insightful TED Talk, "Do Schools Kill Creativity?", sheds light on the often untapped potential within systems that prioritize conformity over creativity. This insight holds a profound implication for those of us in the tech product field. Our industry, known for its rapid evolution and technological advancements, calls for an environment where creativity is not just welcomed but actively nurtured.

Thanks for reading Gembanana’s Blog! Subscribe for free to receive new posts and support my work.

To the Innovators and Visionaries in Tech Teams

You, the innovators, designers, developers, and strategists, are the driving force behind technological breakthroughs and innovative products. However, the true potential of your creativity is often constrained by narrow job descriptions, traditional management practices, and a culture that inadvertently sidelines out-of-the-box thinking. It's time to challenge these norms.

Creativity in tech isn't just about aesthetics or occasional brainstorming sessions. It's about solving complex problems, envisioning what isn't there yet, and daring to think differently. Whether you're refining a user interface, optimizing backend processes, or brainstorming the next big feature, your creative input is invaluable. Every line of code, every design element, and every strategic decision can be a testament to innovative thinking.

A Message to Management and Leaders

Leaders and managers, your role is pivotal in fostering this creative ethos. It's about creating an environment where your teams feel empowered to experiment, to voice unconventional ideas, and to take calculated risks. This involves moving away from a top-down approach and instead cultivating a culture of collaboration, where each team member’s unique perspective and creative prowess are valued.

Encourage your teams to break the mold. Facilitate workshops, brainstorming sessions, and encourage cross-functional collaboration. Provide tools and resources that inspire creativity and innovation. Recognize and celebrate creative achievements, no matter how small they may seem. By doing so, you're not only enhancing the productivity of your teams, but also driving your product to new heights.

Conclusion: Unleashing a Wave of Creativity

The tech industry thrives on innovation, and innovation is fueled by creativity. Let this be a clarion call to everyone in tech product teams and their leadership: unleash the full spectrum of your creativity. Break free from the confines of conventionality. Embrace new ideas, explore uncharted territories, and be the pioneers in creating products that redefine our tomorrow.

In this journey, tools like Gembanana can play a supportive role, offering a platform for effective product discovery and fostering a creative mindset. But the true change begins with each one of us, in how we perceive our roles, challenge the status quo, and collaborate to turn innovative ideas into reality.

Together, let's commit to creating a workspace where creativity isn't just encouraged – it's the cornerstone of everything we do.

Thanks for reading Gembanana’s Blog! shape our methodologies and outcomes. As an Agile coach, I advocate for a crucial linguistic shift: replacing 'requirements' with 'needs', especially in complex scenarios. This is not just a change in terminology, but a fundamental transformation in our approach to product development.

Thanks for reading Gembanana’s Blog! Subscribe for free to receive new posts and support my work.

The Limitations of 'Requirements'

'Requirements' have long been the cornerstone of traditional project management. They are predefined conditions or capabilities that a product or service must meet. However, this concept often leads to a fixed mindset, narrowing the scope of solutions and innovation. When we ask users to define these requirements, we unintentionally limit the potential of what can be achieved, confining both the problem and its solutions to a predetermined framework.

The Power of 'Needs'

In contrast, focusing on 'needs' brings a human-centric approach to the forefront. Needs emphasize what users actually aim to achieve, rather than dictating how they should achieve it. This perspective encourages teams to understand the user's context and challenges in depth, fostering a more empathetic and effective approach to solution development.

Embracing the Cynefin Framework

The Cynefin framework offers valuable insights into when to discuss requirements versus needs. In the Obvious or Complicated domains, where problems are clear-cut or can be resolved through expert analysis, defining requirements is appropriate. However, in the Complex domain, where cause and effect are only understood in retrospect, focusing on needs is more beneficial. Here, in the realm of complexity, we must engage in a process of exploration, experimentation, and adaptation, guided by the evolving needs of users and the system.

Fostering Creativity and Innovation through Needs

Addressing needs, especially in complex scenarios, opens the door to creativity and innovation. It encourages teams to explore a variety of solutions, fostering an environment where learning from failures and feedback is an integral part of the journey towards finding the most effective solution.

Product Discovery and Agile Mindset

Product discovery, an iterative process of experimenting and learning, becomes crucial in this approach. It aligns perfectly with the Agile mindset of flexibility, adaptation, and continuous improvement. By focusing on needs, teams can remain responsive to changing user requirements and market conditions, ensuring the development of products that are both relevant and valuable.

Conclusion

The shift from 'requirements' to 'needs' is more than a change in vocabulary; it's a paradigm shift in how we approach product development in an Agile framework. This shift empowers us to move beyond the limitations of predefined requirements, embrace the complexity of real-world problems, and craft solutions that genuinely meet user needs. As we navigate our Agile journeys, let's embrace this transformative approach and unlock the full potential of our teams and products.

Thanks for reading Gembanana’s Blog! Feature Adoption Report: a significant portion of software features are underutilized, resulting in substantial financial implications for companies. This underscores the need for effective product discovery to ensure features align with user needs and expectations.

Understanding Product Discovery
Product discovery isn't just about building new features; it's about building the right ones. Pendo's report found that 80% of features in the average software product are rarely or never used, highlighting a clear gap between development and user demand. Product discovery is the process of deeply understanding your users' needs and using this insight to guide product development. Unlike traditional approaches that focus primarily on execution, product discovery emphasizes learning and validation before deciding what to build.

Thanks for reading Gembanana’s Blog! Publicly-traded cloud software companies invested up to $29.5 billion in developing features that were underutilized. This massive investment could have been redirected towards features that offered higher value and better met customer needs if product discovery was prioritized.

Key Elements of Effective Product Discovery
Effective product discovery involves several key elements:

User Research: Understanding customer pain points and desires through storyboarding, journey maps and surveys.

Prototyping: Creating simple models of proposed products to gather quick and concrete feedback.

Feedback Loops: Regularly testing assumptions and integrating feedback into the development process.

Transitioning from Good to Great
Shifting to a discovery-focused mindset requires patience and a willingness to experiment and learn. This shift means valuing customer insight as much as the product features themselves, a move that can transform a good product into a great one.

<picture></picture>

<g>

</g><polyline points="15 3 21 3 21 9"></polyline><polyline points="9 21 3 21 3 15"></polyline><line x1="21" x2="14" y1="3" y2="10"></line><line x1="3" x2="10" y1="21" y2="14"></line>

Conclusion:
Product discovery is more than a phase in the development process; it's a philosophy that places the customer at the heart of every product decision. With our combined years of experience in digital product management and tech development, we've witnessed firsthand the challenges and triumphs of product development. Our journey has taken us through various roles and organizations, where we've seen the power of effective collaboration and the pitfalls of its absence. This diverse background has fueled our passion for improving the way teams work together.

We firmly believe that visualization is a key component in fostering effective communication and collaboration within teams. By providing visual tools and frameworks, Gembanana aims to catalyze the right conversations, ensuring that ideas and strategies are not only clearly understood but also creatively explored. This approach is central to our mission of enhancing the product discovery process, enabling teams to align more closely with customer needs and company goals through a more engaging and interactive dialogue.

However, we've observed that too many organizations overlook the importance of this visualization and thorough product discovery. This oversight often leads to several negative outcomes, including demotivated teams, bloated software, and significant waste. By skipping these crucial steps, organizations miss out on the opportunity to harness their teams' full creative potential and to develop solutions that are truly aligned with customer needs. The consequence is not just a failure in meeting project objectives but also a broader impact on innovation and team morale.

Gembanana addresses this gap by providing the tools and framework necessary for effective visualization and collaboration. Our goal is to prevent these common pitfalls in product development. We aim to empower teams to fully engage in the discovery process, fostering an environment where creativity and cross-functional collaboration are not just encouraged but are integral to developing impactful and customer-centric solutions.

If you want to follow our journey with Gembanana, consider subscribing.
<p class="button-wrapper" user needs. Outcomes represent the end results that the development team wants to achieve, whereas features are simply the tools used to achieve these outcomes. By focusing on outcomes, development teams can promote creativity, agility, motivation, and transparency, and ultimately achieve success. In this blog post, we will explore why prioritizing outcomes is so important in software development, and how desired outcomes can be tied to company strategy.

Promotes Creativity

Prioritizing outcomes can inspire creativity because it allows teams to think beyond the limitations of specific features or functionalities. Instead of just building features, focusing on the desired outcome encourages teams to solve a challenge in a creative way.

<picture></picture>

<g>

</g><polyline points="15 3 21 3 21 9"></polyline><polyline points="9 21 3 21 3 15"></polyline><line x1="21" x2="14" y1="3" y2="10"></line><line x1="3" x2="10" y1="21" y2="14"></line>

By tying desired outcomes to company strategy, the team can explore how the product can impact the customers and align with the overall direction of the company. Outcomes are tangible and measurable, which helps teams stay on track and focused. By tying desired outcomes to the company strategy, teams can feel more connected to the overall mission and direction of the company, which can lead to a more dedicated and productive team.

<picture></picture>

<g>

</g><polyline points="15 3 21 3 21 9"></polyline><polyline points="9 21 3 21 3 15"></polyline><line x1="21" x2="14" y1="3" y2="10"></line><line x1="3" x2="10" y1="21" y2="14"></line>

Encourages Transparency

Prioritizing outcomes promotes transparency by making it clear what users can expect from a product. Outcomes are often measured using metrics, which can help teams evaluate their progress and communicate that progress to stakeholders. This is especially important in large, complex development projects where stakeholders may not be familiar with the details of the development process.
